ARES/RACES
(PGARES)Membership
Membership in the PG-ARES/RACES requirements include:
A valid Amateur Radio Operators License as well as a willingness to participate and complete the following requirements.These membership requirements will take effect June 1, 2008
PROBATIONARY Membership - First 6 Months
ARES card Issued after 3 Months Complete FEMA IS-100 ¹ and IS-700 ² and submit certification to the EC Attend 1 or more Meetings per Quarter. Check into at least 2 On-the-Air Training Nets per Quarter ASSOCIATE Membership - ARES Card issued after completing the following:
Attend 1 or more Meetings per Quarter. Check into at least 2 On-the-Air Training Nets per Quarter Act as Net Control Station or Alternate NCS within the 6 months FULL Membership - ARES Card & County PAT Tag issued after completing the following:
Complete FEMA IS-100 ¹ and IS-700 ² and submit certification to the EC Attend 1 or more Meetings per Quarter. Check into at least 2 On-the-Air Training Nets per Quarter Act as Net Control Station or Alternate NCS every 6 months
Or participate in ARES committees - as AEC, Hospital Team Leader, Freq. Coordinator, or any EC appointed group leader position.STAND-BY Membership - For those Hams who can only help in an emergency.
Attend one meeting per quarter Check into at least 2 On-the-Air Training Nets per Quarter

* These online training courses are required by Prince Georges County to qualify to work an County administered Emergency Incident.
